MEET THE AUTHOR
Steve Ladik received his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University in 1983. He is Managing Member at Ladik Law Firm, PLLC, and possesses forty years of experience in the field of immigration and nationality law, where he has developed a highly regarded national sports industry practice, providing immigration-related counsel and representation to professional athletes, teams, tours, and leagues in a variety of sports. In his law practice he has helped many children who have overcome all odds to join their family members in the US after losing loved ones in their home countries, and he always handles these matters at no cost to the children or their families.
In 2008 Ladik visited puppies from a friend's yellow lab and picked Pemberton to be his forever friend-but it was actually Pemberton that picked Steve, because when Steve sat down on the grass with all the pups, it was Pemberton that jumped in his lap. They remained together until 2020 when Pemberton sadly crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Steve has always had dogs and he can readily recite all of their names from Lisa through Daisy, Toby, Beau, Pemberton, Charlie, and his current lab Churchill. He felt this book could bring attention to the need to end puppy mills and promote rescue organizations and adoption of dogs in need of forever families.
